Are you the type of guy who sets New Year’s Resolutions, but never actually makes any sort of improvements throughout the year?
It’s probably because you don’t have a reliable process for sticking to your goals.
A plan without a solid process is a house built with no cement – eventually it’ll crumble.
If you’re sick and tired of setting goals and not following through, try following this process to make 2020 your best ever year.
Step 1. Set meaningful goals
To set goals that really mean something to you: try asking yourself the following question: “What are five things I would do if I weren’t afraid?”
Write down the answer on a notepad. Goals become real when they are tangible.
Step 2. Find your ‘why’
Your ‘why’ needs to be powerful enough to keep you relentlessly pursuing your goal when the going gets tough.
Write this down too and remember it when you feel like giving up.
Step 3. Believe it’s possible
Find someone from a similar background to you who has already achieved your goals. This will help you believe your dreams are possible for ‘someone like you’.
Most experts have written a book or created a video course, showing people how to achieve what they have.
Once you’ve found an expert you trust, simply follow the same steps that they did.
Step 4. Take action TODAY
Procrastination is the ultimate dream killer.
There will never be the ‘perfect time’ to start making strides towards your dreams, so you might as well begin TODAY.
The sooner you start, the sooner you’ll experience the sweet taste of success.
Step 5. Learn from your mistakes
Most dating coaches encourage their students to write ‘field reports’.
A basic field report might contain bullet points of all the things you did well and all the things you need to improve.
Written debriefs like this are truly valuable no matter what goal you’re heading towards. They not only keep you focused on your goal, but they keep you motivated to keep going.
Step 6. Get a coach
This is the single best move you can make to quickly launch yourself towards your dream life.
An experienced coach, who has already achieved what you want, will prevent you from making all the mistakes that they did on their way to the top. This will cut years off your learning curve.
